What Is Seedream 5.0 Pro?
Seedream 5.0 Pro is an image generation and editing model from ByteDance's Seed team. It launched on July 8, 2026, a few months after Seedream 5.0 Lite, and ByteDance describes it with one line: beyond generation, it understands design. Compared with earlier Seedream versions, it matches pictures to prompts more closely, keeps objects and layouts more believable, and renders text more cleanly.
ByteDance highlights four big improvements. First, it can turn data, ideas, and long passages of text into tidy, professional layouts such as infographics, guides, and explainers. Second, it understands where things are in a picture, so you can point at a spot—with a dot, a box, a circled area, or a rough sketch—and change only that part, including swapping colors and materials. Third, it reproduces real-world light, surfaces, and skin texture, so photos look alive rather than plastic. Fourth, it reads and writes more than ten common languages, including English, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic. ByteDance is also honest about its limits: very small text and perfect pixel-level consistency across edits still have room to improve.
On PixPal, Seedream 5.0 Pro works for both text-to-image and image-to-image. You can upload up to 10 reference images, choose 1K, 1.5K, or 2K output, and pick from 12 aspect ratios plus two fixed square sizes. You can also switch between Standard and Fast prompt handling, save as JPEG or PNG, and turn on a transparent background for stickers and cutouts. 1K and 1.5K cost the same, and 2K costs more.
